“What does Christianity have to do with politics?”

I get asked this question a lot. Some people seem to think that Christians shouldn’t have anything to do with politics, or they should stick to one side of politics and therefore stay out of any debates or protests or discussions — the ‘dirty’ side of politics. But we as…

Daily Bible Reading — Day 51

Daily Bible Reading — Day 51 Today we wrap up the book of Leviticus with a rather stern warning from God about what will happen if the Israelites don’t follow the statutes and commandments. Warnings we know, in the future, the Israelites didn’t heed and indeed the punishment God promised, happened. But that comes much later in our reading. We finish up with some bookkeeping rules about the values of vows and animals and people…

Daily Bible Reading — Day 50

Today’s reading shows God telling Moses all about the Feast days the nation is to follow. But it also includes STILL MORE laws about how to treat the poor and immigrants. It’s almost as if how people are treated is so important to God that He repeats himself over and over on those points just to make sure Moses and the Israelites actually have it down. And so much of what is written here is repeated by Jesus several centuries later, except Jesus told the Pharisees and Scribes that they had forgotten those parts and focused only on the minutiae of the law and not the reason why the law was written in the first place (to take care of each other.)

Daily Bible Reading — Day 36

Moses is still on top of the mountain with God getting some pretty specific instructions on the tabernacle, its furnishings, priestly garment, and burnt offerings. We’re getting into a really dry reading part here. Lots of rules and instructions for things that don’t exist anymore. What can we learn from this part? #ChronologicalBiblePlan #DailyBibleReading #ReadTheBibleInAYear

Open Letter To A Former Church Sibling

Dear brother/sister, I write this now because the church we used to belong to together is no longer. Scripture tells us to bring our grievances to the church leadership, but we can’t do that, so I’m throwing this one out into the wind. But also in part because what you…

Another year…

On January 1st, 2014 I pushed the virtual “go live” button on Christianity Without The Insanity. I had gotten the idea — stolen, swiped, copied, call it what you will — from so many other online politically left-leaning social media brands were… well, they didn’t seem to PRODUCE anything. I…

Stop Saying Democrats Really Lost. We Ain’t Buying That Bullsh*t.

Conservative opinion journalists and bloggers have been really busy over the last few days. They’ve been cranking out article after article explaining how even though Trump lost the White House, he actually won, how Democrats didn’t really win anything, in spite of putting Joe Biden in the Oval Office and…

I’m seeing a lot of posts over the last couple of days saying that even if Trump loses the White House he’s still won. Because he’s shown us that he owns half of America. …

How should we, as Christians, react on November 4th?

First, and let’s be really really clear on this: the results of the US Presidential election, in spite of what Trump, Biden, and ESPECIALLY THE MEDIA will tell you on Election Night and the next day, will likely not be officially decided for WEEKS. Let me say that again. WE…
